Winners of Packaging Design Competition Received Their Awards
Winners of the 17th National Packaging Design Student Competition organized by ASD Turkish Packaging Manufacturers Association with the contribution of Eurasia Packaging Istanbul Exhibition in collaboration with Reed TÜYAP have been announced.
The winners of the 17th National Packaging Design Student Competition were announced at the Award Ceremony organized at the opening of the 26th Eurasia Packaging Istanbul Fair, in cooperation with ASD Turkish Packaging Manufacturers Association and Reed TÜYAP.
Atahan Göktürk Güner studying at Marmara University Department of Industrial Design was the winner of the competition with his 'Light Bulb Packaging Design' project while Berke Ali Altunay studying at Istanbul Medipol University Department of Industrial Design received the second prize with his 'Mookie' project and Rabia Ardanuç studying at Istanbul Medipol University Department of Industrial Design received the third prize with her 'Fix-Kid Children's Vitamin Packaging' project.
The winner of the competition was awarded with 6,000 TL, the second with 4,000 TL, and the third with 3,000 TL, while three students who received honorable mention were awarded with 1,500 TL. In addition, the top three students were entitled to receive a 12-month non-refundable ASD & TÜYAP Scholarship.
“WE BELIEVE IN YOUNG DESIGNERS”
Assessing the results, Mr. Zeki Sarıbekir, President of ASD said: “The students who were successful in our competition have the chance to participate in WorldStar Student organized by WPO-World Packaging Organization and AsiaStar Competition organized by APF-Asia Packaging Federation and to compete once again for a global title. Last year, 16 student projects that were ranked in the 16th National Packaging Design Student Competition participated in the annual WorldStar Student competition organized by the World Packaging Organization (WPO) and received 1 Gold award, 1 Bronze award, 1 Marketing Gold award, 1 Marketing Bronze award, 1 Sustainability Silver award, and 4 Honorable Mentions. In addition, the certificate award of the competition was presented to 10 Turkish projects, and Turkey received a total of 19 awards. We are confident that the same success will continue this year. We trust the vision of our young designers and support them to the fullest.”
92 students at Graphic and Graphic Design, Visual Communication Design, Industrial Product Design, and Industrial Design departments of 18 different universities applied with their projects to the competition, which was organized to encourage students studying design in Turkey to explore the field of packaging design. Following the Selecting Committee meeting, which was organized online among 11 members of the jury for 2 days, 18 projects qualified for the finals.
