Turkey and ASD to be Elected the President of Asian Packaging Federation
Asian Packaging Federation (APF) 2019 General Assembly Meeting, AsiaStar Packaging Competition Jury Meeting and Award Ceremony took place in Bangkok with the contributions of Department of Industrial Promotions (DIP) in Thailand. Delegates from 11 countries attending the APF General assembly unanimously elected and appointed Turkish Packaging Manufacturers Association (ASD) the President of APF for 2020 - 2022.
Asian Packaging Federation (APF) 44th General Assembly, 69th Board of Directors, AsiaStar Packaging Competition Jury Meeting and Award Ceremony were held by Department of Industrial Promotions (DIP) in Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand, on September 16 th - 19 th , 2019 with the support of Kasetsart University, Thai Packaging Center (TPC), Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) and Thai Packaging Association (TPA). In this year's meeting, Ms. Aslihan Arikan, representing Turkey and General Secretary of Turkish Packaging Manufacturers Association (ASD) was unanimously elected and appointed the President of APF for 2020 - 2022. Delegates from 11 countries attending the APF General Assembly took part in the concurrently organized "Asian Packaging Seminar” and had the chance to visit "Pack Print International” Exhibition, which was organized by Messe Dusseldorf.
This year, for the Board Meeting, representatives from Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Turkey exchanged ideas about the works of APF and made decisions about business collaboration for developing the packaging industry in the continent.
Hosted by DIP, AsiaStar 2019 Awards Ceremony took place in the form of evening cocktail invitation on the opening day of Pack Print International Exhibition.
Attended by Bangladesh, China, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Turkey in 2019, AsiaStar 2019 packaging design competition received a total of 118 applications. Turkey returned from the competition with a total of 10 awards. Winning product and project awards were received by ASD General Secretary Ms. Arikan on behalf of Turkey from Thailand Exporters' Association Director Mr. Jaruphun Jarayophat.

3 rd Vice President: Ms. Betty Tan, Singapore, PCS, Packaging Council of Singapore,
Secretary General: Ms. Pattra Maneesin, Thailand, TPC, Thailand Packaging Center,
Treasurer: Mr. Sunil Costa, Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka Packaging Institute.
