WE SHOULD EXPORT HALF OF OUR PRODUCTION
Stating that the growth of the packaging industry continues in the İSO 1000 Major Industrial Enterprises list, Mr. Zeki Sarıbekir, the President of the ASD Turkish Packaging Manufacturers Association, said that the focus of growth is exports. Stating that the sector's positive contribution to the current account deficit has increased by having a foreign trade surplus of 2.7 billion dollars in 2021, Mr. Zeki Sarıbekir said: "As the Packaging Sector, we should aim to export more and more every day. We should work in order to export at least half of the packaging we produce in Türkiye."
Expressing that commodity prices, raw material issues, increases up to 3 times in production costs and container issues are among the factors affecting exports negatively, Mr. Zeki Sarıbekir reiterated their opposition to the import of waste.
