WPO Fall Meeting Held in Indonesia

World Packaging Organization (WPO) 2019 Fall Meeting was held, hosted by IPF-Indonesia Packaging Federation, on 4 th -8 th November in Bali island, Indonesia.

The meeting brought together senior representatives of leading packaging companies from 21 countries. During the week of the meetings, the per annum workshops of the WPO Education, Marketing and Sustainability Committees and the WorldStar 2020 Jury Meeting were held. From many countries, representatives of packaging sector associations exchanged ideas in all these events.

In the meetings where Australia, Austria, Brazil, China, Croatia, Finland, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Norway, Pakistan, Palestine, Republic of South Africa, Singapore, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Turkey, UK and Ukraine also takes place, the current and future studies of WPO were discussed.

Education Workshop was also held under the chair of Ms. Aslıhan Arıkan, General Secretary of Turkish Packaging Manufacturers Association (ASD). She was elected as the WPO Vice President of Education in charge for the period 2018-2020. WPO coordinates English "Packaging Technology Trainings" for 3-4-5-6 days in countries that requested training under its sponsorship.

IPF also organized "Sustainable Packaging & Circular Economy” themed two days conference with the support of WPO and Asian Packaging Federation (APF), simultaneously organized with the meetings. ASD presented a study called ""Sustainable Packaging Production with Reduction” and participated the panel discussion after presentations in the Global Packaging Conference.
